High school swim teams from across the Missouri Region compete in the 73rd Boys Swimming and Diving Championships. The MSHSAA event was held at the City of St. Peters REC-PLEX, in St. Peters.

Jury Elementary teacher loses mohawk

Lemola Mason, 9, earned the chance to shave the mohawk from fourth grader teacher Dan Ryno Friday afternoon at Jury Elementary School in Florissant. Mason won the chance as part of a 25-cent ticket fundraiser to help adopt two Jury families for Thanksgiving. "I'm known for my mohawk," said Ryno of what has become his trademark at the school. "I just hope he doesn't carve his name into my head."

By Tim O'Neil---On Nov. 14, 1936, the dedication took place of the St. Louis Floral Conservatory in Forest Park, already going by its enduring nickname, the Jewel Box. It would become the settings for thousands of weddings, parties and wildly popular annual displays for Easter and Christmas. And it would become a favorite retreat offering the tranquilty of tropical plants, bounties of flowers and the soft bubbling of the waterfall.
