Choice Bus visits St. Louis

  • The Mattie C. Stewart Foundation’s Choice Bus makes a stop at L’Ouverture Middle School. Half classroom, half prison cell, the bus and its crew travel to teach kids about the connection to staying in school and earning potential. They also warn kids that 75 percent of the prison population is made up of dropouts. At the end of the four-minute video the students get to stand in a replica jail cell. As they get off the bus, they are given a pledge card. It's up to the students to sign the card and commit to their education.
