100 degree heat Sunday in St. Louis
Folks try to keep cool during another day of 100 plus degree temperatures Sunday in the St. Louis area. They visited the water fountains at City Garden, played in a backyard pool to walked in the shade while donning shade. The hot temperatures are expected to continue throughout the week.

The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2012, at Busch Stadium as the temperature hovered around 100 degrees. Cardinals starting pitcher Jake Westbrook went six innings and got the win. Cardinals Yadier Molina and Allen Craig hit homeruns.
