Caption: MAY 27 2011- "He was very patriotic," said Pat Steick of South County who visited her husband's grave at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Friday afternoon. A decade ago, cemetery managers warned they would run out of space by 2010. But through expansion and some reorganizing, the cemetery, with an average of 17 daily burials, is hoping to make it possibly to 2027. Veteran Glennon Francis Steick who died in the fall of 2009 is buried in section 1-IIB. Started in June 2008, the section holds 3752 grave sites and filled up by August 1, 2010.
