August 22, 2011 - As night approaches, the Victoria water lily flower blooms in about an hour - in the center basin reflecting pool at the Missouri Botanical Gardens on an August afternoon in St. Louis. The Victoria water lilies bloom at night and close during the day. They are native of Brazil, Guyana and Bolivia and arrived in the Garden in 1894.
