September 17, 2001 - Southampton resident Tom Quigley carries his nephew Gavin Guiett down the mural-lined stairs of Kennard Classical Junior Academy during Saturday's open house for magnet schools. Quigley and his wife are trying to find the best place for their four-year-old daughter to attend but Quigley is unsure of his chances of being picked in the magnet school lottery. "I think she's smart enough to get in but even if she scores (well), it's still the luck of the draw." The stairwell murals were painted by Kennard students and teachers.
