Kirkwood Mayor Art McDonnell (center) jokes with customer Judy Alferman (left) from Kirkwood and employee Jodi Emory (right) on Friday, October 14, 2011. McDonnell is closing his store,McDonnell's Market, for good after he liquidates all of the remaining inventory. Emory, who worked at the store for twenty five years before retiring two years ago, came back in the last few weeks to help out as the store prepares to close its doors for good. "It's really sad. I've cried many tears in the last few months," said Emory, "It's like a home away from home. Since I've retired, I just come up here to get hugs."
