Mary Catherine Reidy of St. Charles holds up her grandson Duncan Reidy-Morris, 5, to see the chocolate Rally Squirrel on the candy counter at Crown Candy Thursday, October 20. Duncan, of Alabama, is in town visiting his grandparents and knows all about the rally squirrel. "It's a good luck squirrel," he said. The family bought a chocolate squirrel after eating lunch. Andy Karandzieff, co-owner of Crown Candy, said that as of Thursday afternoon they had sold about 400 chocolate Rally Squirrels. "We haven't sold 400 squirrels in the last 10 years, now we've done it in a week." Normally the squirrel mold is only used during the spring as an alternative to a chocolate Easter bunny.
