Whitmire, a Kirkwood resident, made a donation of $100,000 to the Kirkwood-Joplin Science Collaboration Project. The collaboration will provide science equipment to Joplin high school and allow the two schools to work together on science projects and research. "Bricks and mortar are one thing, but people to people is another," Whitmire said. Pictured left to right are Karisa Boyer, Jopin high school science teacher, Ken Shaw Kirkwood high school science teacher, Tim Oster, Joplin high school science teacher, Nathan Mutic, Joplin high school science teacher, and Franklin McCallie, former Kirkwood high school principal.
