Workers with Eberhart Sign and Lighting Company install a new sign that marks the east entrance of The Grove neighborhood Tuesday, just west of Vandeventer on Manchester Avenue. Procuring the sign, which is 11 feet tall and just about 25 feet wide, was a project headed by the Washington University Medical Center Community Develepment department to mark the rejuvenation of the area of Manchester Avenue between Vandeventer and Kingshighway in St. Louis. The neon double-faced sign costed about $60,000 to design engineer and build and hangs about 16 feet from the ground over the street. The Ameren Corp. will put a meter box on the power supply to the sign and the bill will be paid by businesses in the Grove neighborhood.
