Phil Snowbarger (center) laughs with his friend Tommy DiPaola (right) during a genetics lab in Jane Davis' 8th grade science class on Friday, May 11, 2012, at Sperreng Middle School. The lab used to be two classrooms. A wall was removed and tables and cabinets were added this year. Last year Sperreng Middle School was the largest middle school in the state with 1300 students. This year the school split in half with about 650 kids staying at Sperreng and the other 650 kids going to Truman Middle School, which was formerly an elementary school. The band room at Truman is new. It was formerly used as a warehouse area in the school.
