Amour Jones, 6, and her mother Miranda Jones attend a candlelight vigil and fundraiser Friday for victims of the massive earthquake in Haiti at the Katherine Dunham Museum. Dunham, herself was a staunch advocate of Haiti for many years before her death.

A rare story of forgiveness happens as Aaron Poisson spreads the remains of Roger Kreutz on a tree dedicated to him outside a Crestwood Starbucks Friday as Roger's brother, Chris Kreutz, background left, and his wife Carrie, look on. Poisson killed Roger Kreutz trying to flee the scene after stealing the tip jar from the baristas counter at the Starbucks two years ago. Kreutz got in the way of Poisson's car and was run over. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and was released from prison in October.

The home of accused murderer Christopher Coleman in Columbia, Illinois sits vacant one year after the bodies of his wife Sheri Coleman, 31, and his sons Garett, 11, and Gavin, 9, were found strangled to death inside. Coleman is on trial for their murders. The home is located at 2854 Robert Drive.

Wednesday Oct. 27, 2010 -  Caledonia -According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the historic town of Caledonia, Missouri, with less than 200 people, is the epicenter of 175 square miles the Agency is in the process of designating as a Superfund site for excessive lead levels. Wednesday Oct. 6, 2010 - St. Louis -
Arthur Denkmann Jr., 70, changes the river depth reading indicator along the St. Louis riverfront on Leonor K. Sullivan Blvd. Wednesday to show the day's level. Denkmann has been taking  a reading and recording information at the St. Louis Riverfront and at a location at Jefferson Barracks once a day for the last 45 years. Even though what he does has been replaced with technology, his love of the river keeps him going.

St. Joseph Academy students Abby Kielty, left, and Amanda Hoffmeyer, second from left, react as Judy Anth, right, of Look After Hair Co. shows freshman Kelly Torrence the eight inches of her hair she cut off for the school's Ponytail Pledge Thursday. Several students promised to donate at least eight inches of hair  to the Locks of Love and Pantene Beautiful Lengths programs to make wigs for children with cancer. The young women and some faculty pledged to grow their hair in late August. A total of 94 donations were collected in all.

Another member of our armed services comes home to full burial honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. The casket of Lance Corporal Phillip Vinnedge of St. Charles is carried by his fellow Marines to his plot.  Vinnedge was killed in action while serving in the Helmand Province in Afghanistan 16 days after arriving there. He was 19 years old.

An edifice of America's most famous highway is in danger. A look westward on the Old Route 66 bridge over the Meramec River is interrupted by barricades and a warning sign. The aging bridge is in serious disrepair and MoDOT wants to tear it down. The Missouri Route 66 Association is trying to rally support for preserving the bridge.
