Former Cardinal MVP Marty Marion dies

Mary Marion, the 1944 National League MVP with the Cardinals and a former manager of the Cardinals and St. Louis Browns, died Tuesday night, March 15, 2011.
Whitey Kurowski, Enos Slaughter, Marty Marion and Stan Musial know the year the Cardinals won their third world title in the '40s.

TUESDAY 30 MARCH 2004 - Marty Marion was the last manager of the St. Louis Browns before they  moved to Baltimore.  Marion is best known as the Cardinals shortstop who won the National League MVP award in 1944.  Now 87 years old, he lives in Ladue with his wife of 67 years.
