September 2, 2011 - St. Louis County police crime scene investigators loaded a green bag into an evidence box that was found by St. Louis City police officers on Interstate 55 northbound near the Holly Hills Avenue overpass Friday morning.  The bag was believed to be used in a bank robbery in south St. Louis County.

She needs us now, more than ever. We do not  know why this happened.  We have no clue. We don't understand it either, said Martenia Jones, during a press conference at East St. Louis City Hall.  Yokeia Smith, 25, of the 3000 block of Lincoln Avenue, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of two of her young children.  She is accused of shooting her daughter Yokela Smith, 4, and son Levada Brown, 5, in their heads with a shotgun Wednesday evening at their East St. Louis home.
