24 July, 2007 -- Moments after kissing him on the cheek, Cardinals center fielder Jim Edmonds (right) gives manager Tony La Russa a heartfelt hug during batting practice before a game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Mo.  It was apparently part of an inside joke between the two after La Russa said he didn't like to be close to Edmonds when he hadn't shaved. It was Ankiel's first appearance back in the major leagues since retiring as a pitcher.  He hit a three-run homerun in the seventh inning.
