Maryville University’s School of Education hosted a Birthday Party for Dr. Seuss on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at the Donius University Center. A scavenger hunt, crafts, books readings, food, and photos with Dr. Seuss characters were among the activities at the event.

Part of the celebration was funded with a $1000 grant students Alexa Phillips and Makenzie Schaller received from the Missouri National Education Association. He's generational. My grandmother, my three year old cousin, everyone loves Dr. Seuss. He unites all age groups with a shared love of reading, Phillips said of Dr. Seuss.
