Childcare safety advocates rally, lobby their congressmen

Fifty-four onesies were on display for a rally in the rotunda of the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, representing a child who has died in the state within the last 55 months while in the care of an unlicensed daycare. Childcare Aware Missouri, and advocacy group, is pushing for changes in Missouri law to strengthen childcare safety regulations, particularly in unlicensed day cares. They visited Missouri legislators' offices to garner support for legislation to do so.

Brody's son suffocated in unlicensed daycare in the St. Louis area after she tried repeatedly to get caregivers to not use loose blankets in his crib.
