St. Louis Post-Dispatch photojournalist Erik Lunsford recently spent 24 hours at Vision of Peace Hermitages in Pevely, where people can go for reflection and solitude. For a suggested donation of $35 per night, visitors can stay for days, while others leave just a few hours after arriving.
