The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the St. Louis Citizen of the Year Committee held an induction ceremony for Frankie Muse Freeman as 2011 Citizen of the Year Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Emerson Performance Center on the Harris-Stowe University campus. Freeman,95, an American civil rights attorney was the first woman to be appointed to the United States Commission on Civil Rights.
