Goddess Blessing Buddha lantern which is part of the upcoming Lantern Festival: Art by Day, Magic by Night at the entrance of the Missouri Botanical Garden Tuesday, May 15, 2012, in St. Louis.  Quoted from the Garden --Bodhisattva, also known as Avalokitesvara, is an enlightening being who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas. The Goddess Blessing Buddha lantern set is based on the famous Avalokitesvara created in the Tang dynasty and located in the stone caves of Dunhuang in Gansu province, China.
