Bat research on Chouteau Island

Researchers Janet Tyburec and Brenna Long set up nets and captured dozens of bats on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, on Chouteau Island next to the Mississippi River. The researchers were under contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers who are responsible for the wildlife on the island. They were checking for endangered species and for a threatening bat disease.
