The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2012, at Busch Stadium as the temperature hovered around 100 degrees. Cardinals starting pitcher Jake Westbrook went six innings and got the win. Cardinals Yadier Molina and Allen Craig hit homeruns.
