November 30,2006= Joe Wittman of Hazlewood, MO knocks off some excess snow and sleet from atop a 60x100 tent, Thursday as Mother Nature made herself known with an early  blast of winter to the area. The tent, which sets across from the Edward Jones Dome in downtown St. Louis is used for Rams game-day events is rented to Anheuser Bush from Hazlewood's company, Sun Rentals from Bridgeton, MO. Dale Arthur, 56, from Rolla, clears the ice from his windshield wipers Thursday afternoon at a gas station in Valley Park. Arthur works for Horizon Transportation and was delivering the new school bus from Oklahoma to the Laidlaw Bus Co. in St. Louis. He was in an ice storm most of the way up Interstate 44 from Rolla.

These kids got out of school early, but it didn't stop them from playing in the sleet Thursday afternoon near Ballwin in unincorporated west county. They are from left: Neil Smith, 13; Taylor Hughes, 13; and Connor Forbeck, 13. The basketball netting was frozen so they had to push the ball out after each basket.

FRIDAY 1 DECEMBER 2006 - Melinda Gildehaus of Kirkwood spent her day keeping the fireplace burning and reading a Harry Potter book.  Her home on E. Jefferson Avenue lost power for the second time this year, first during the July storms.  That outage was just a few hours however this one may last days.
