Emily Rasinski has been a staff photographer at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch since January 2008. Before joining the Post-Dispatch Rasinski worked at The Evening Sun in Hanover, Penn., and interned at The Daily Herald in Illinois and in Ohio at The Akron Beacon Journal, and The Advertiser-Tribune. A northeast Ohio native, Rasinski graduated from Kent State University with degrees in photojournalism and Spanish. Her work has been honored by the National Press Photographers Association, The Atlanta Seminar in Photojournalism, and The Southern Short Course.

South Western head coach Mike Resetar held the practice to make sure his team was prepared for whatever weather they might face. Its something fun, he said, and you never know when you'll have to play in the rain.

Lauron Thompson, a senior alto in the Elite Jazz Show Choir at  Central Visual and Performing Arts High School, is brought to tears  by a compliment by Ana Maria Vigil (not pictured) after their concert at SLU Care Cardiac Rehabiliation annual Christmas party. It touches me when I know that I'm touching someone else. She told us we should thank God for the gift he gave us.

Joesph Davis shares the stub of his cigarette with his son Joey in their new living room. After being homeless for nearly a year, the family was able to find a small apartment to rent in Akron, Ohio, with the help of the Interfaith Hospitality Network. The organization provided them with their first month's rent.

There they plan to pick up a floating tank and the rest of his family who are still in the house at the Bonacker Farm on Highway W next to the Big River in House Springs, Mo. Wayne said the water had not yet reached the first floor of the house but was about two or three feet deep in the front yard.  The family moved their goats,  pigs, a horse and their farm equipment to their other barn up the road on highway W last night as the water was rising. Two weeks ago we had a fire and now we have a flood, Wayne said as he looked out over his land.  The Bonackers farm  about 900 acres of land and said that about 500 of it was flooded in the last two days.

March 16, 2010---
Center, Kenya Dailey holds her son 18-month-old Michael Nelson Jr. Tuesday morning after a fire destroyed the home Michael Nelson Jr. was sleeping in. The 18-month-old's father Michael Nelson climbed into the burning house to rescue his son.  The fire was reported at 4:18 a.m. at the one-story frame home in the 5900 block of Theodore Avenue, at Riverview Boulevard on the North Side.
