Cardinals' catcher Yadier Molina was taken off the field on a stretcher, wearing a neck brace, after a ninth inning collision with the Philadelphia Phillies’ Eric Bruntlett. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and manager Tony La Russa said the initial reports were positive. The game was tied at six each, and Molina held onto the ball for the out after the collision. The Cardinals went on to win the game, 7-6, in 10 innings. The team has a day off Monday, and a cross-state series against the Kansas City Royals begins Tuesday at Busch Stadium.
