Look Back: 1937 Express Highway

The Expressway Highway opened on July 19, 1937, at a cost of $3 million. The highway, which eventually would become part of Highway 40, ran from Kingshighway to Vandeventer, connecting it to the year-old section that already ran through Forest Park to Skinker Boulevard at Hi-Pointe.
