Brown Elementary and Hazelwood North Middle School student choirs honored local veterans with a concert at Brown Elementary School in Florissant on Monday.
Monday November 9, 2009--Students from Brown Elementary School sing at the start of the Veterans Concert at Brown Elementary School on Monday.  More than 300 people showed up to hear the students and honor the veterans who were invited to attend. Shuster proudly told the crowd about her son Michael Shuster who is recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from injuries he sustain in Iraq last May. PFC Shuster, Michael at Walter reed army medical center on the day he was awarded his purple heart. sept August 31 st.  Wounded by 2 EFP attacks on may 17th, 2009 in Baghdad Iraq.  His Iraqi interpreter was killed in the attack.  Shuster attended Brown Elementary School in Florissant who's student honor veterans on Monday night.  Shuster's mother Susan stood during one part of the ceremony and told part of her son's story. Shuster sustained severe tissue and nerve damage to his left arm, he was also shot in the same incident.  He is expected to remain at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for two years while he undergoes additional surgeries to repair his arm.Photo Courtesy Shuster Family
