Thursday January 15, 2009--Terrance Bullock, of St. Louis, walks under the steam spouting from the lions head on the Bee Hat Lofts along N. 11th Street on Thursday. Friday May 8, 2009-Missouri Highway Patrol trooper Tim Craig talks with dispatch about a crash on along Interstate 55 North just south of State Highway Y in Bloomsdale on Friday afternoon.  Trooper Craig jumped into the water and rescued the driver who had hydroplaned and crashed in the flash flood waters.  Heavy rains swelled Establishment Creek and it rapidly rose forcing police to close Interstate 55 in both directions at one point. Monday June 4, 2009--Peggy Lynn Pumpkin O'Neal, walks out of the Eagleton Federal Courthouse after being arraigned on federal charges for allegedly smuggling heroin into the St. Louis Justice Center downtown.  O'Neal and two other corrections officers were arrested after the indictment was unsealed this morning.  According to prosecutors on four occasions from January through early March, the guards got heroin and cash from someone outside the jail and brought it to an inmate inside St. Louis Justice Center downtown.David Carson  dcarson@post-dispatch.com

Saturday June 6, 2009--The casket of Lt. Gregory Jonas is carried out of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church after his funeral service in Centreville on Saturday.  Hundreds of local policemen from across Illinois and Missouri attended the funeral for the Jonas who was a Centreville police officer. Monday June 15, 2009--A suspect in police custody listens to commands from a Granite City Police officer after being arrested at the end of bi-state high speed vehicle chase that ended in the area around Monroe St. and N. 14th St. on Monday.  The three suspects in a Ford Excursion, all arrested at the end of the chase, were wanted for an abduction from Godfrey.  According to police the suspects vehicle rammed a Granite City police officers car during the chase.  Police recovered a hand gun from the suspects vehicle.David Carson    dcarson@post-dispatch.com

Saturday August 22, 2009--James Banks, of St. Louis, looks into the engine bay of 1954 Ford F-100 that was on display at the car show portion of the newly resurrected Taste of Baden street festival on Saturday.  The event located in the 7900 and 8300 blocks of N. Broadway  in St. Louis featured food booths, music and comedy acts, a fashion show, health and information booths, a car show and a children's area with inflatable jumping gyms and petting zoo. Monday September 21, 2009--Randy Erbes, from Acme Erectors, positions a pad on the head of the The Awakening sculpture to protect it as it is hoisted into position at Central Park in Chesterfield on Monday.  The sculpture was created by artist Seward Johnson.  Chesterfield already has more than 20 other pieces on public display by Johnson.
