Ryan Wankel and his mother Patty Wankel hug inside the destroyed Richwood Baptist Church Monday afternoon near Roodhouse, Il. Sunday, a tornado pushed the church about six feet off hits foundation. None of the eleven members were there because the pianist was on vacation. The church was originally built in 1898. It burned in 1901 and was rebuilt in 1903. Ryan Wankel's grandfather was the pastor from 1967 until 1994. I'm glad he didn't live to see this, said Wankel.

Dawn Wagner, from Florissant, paints a scene in Forest Park Sunday morning along with four other painters who are members of the Missouri Plein Air Painters' Association. The group picks a different location every Sunday to paint landscapes - no matter what the weather. One painter said he knows its time to switch to oil paints when the watercolors start to freeze. It was 35 degrees while they were painting.

This pug is one of the dogs brought in to the Humane Society late Thursday night. It is housed temporarily in the lunch room.
The Humane Society of St. Louis took in more than 200 dogs and one cat Thursday night after the second major puppy mill raid in less than a week. The raid was near Seneca in Newton County. They also confiscated one tiger that was put in a Springfield zoo.
