It has been hard to sleep at night," said Joyce Hudson, a resident who lives along a section of Screech Owl Circle that sits below the 670-foot elevation mark. Hudson and her husband recently had their 2000 square foot retirement dream home built on lakefront property. The Hudsons are among thousands of property owners along the lake whoare stuck in legal limbo after being notified that all or part of their homes, decks, gazebos and patios were built on land that belongs toAmeren Missouri's Bagnell Dam project."Someone should have told us. We got a building permit September 2008," said Hudson. Laurie Skrivan | lskrivan@post-dispatch.com
